To better enable facilitators to demonstrate their developmental role and help individuals, communities and organisations identify issues that are important to them, decide on solutions and plan a course for action.


By the end of the course, participants will be able to

  • Describe the role of a facilitator and identify expected results for a facilitator’s responsibilities;
  • Select and apply specific methodologies that encourage learning; and
  • Examine own attitudes and beliefs about learning and change, and on how well participants work together and build trust.
  • Role (including attitude and beliefs) and responsibilities of a good facilitator
  • Task facilitation, group development and group learning
  • Facilitation and reflective practice
  • Dealing with difficult situations and giving and receiving feedback

    Practitioners having some experience involving facilitation and want to have a more effective approach and stronger skills.


    Participatory activities will help participants prepare to apply new learning at her/his workplace. This course uses a wide range of activities – group work, presentations, analysis of actual situations, and exercises for participants to practice using their skills.

    COURSE FEE: $200 per participant

    Cost includes training materials, refreshments and daily lunch. Full payment is required at the time of enrolment.
